Technically

Technically I've written every day, even though the posts on Tuesday don't really count because I was carrying over from the day before. I didn't write anything at a decent hour on Tuesday, but if you think about it, counting today, I've written a chapter a day for three days. Hopefully I can keep this up.
Yeah, that would be good.

Turbid

Mary drove down the dirt road. The weather had turned suddenly from sunny and clear to rain, hail and what could be the beginnings of snow.
"Shit, shit," she said calmly more to the snow than the situation. There was a gas station at the side of the road and she pulled up. Getting out, she saw only two other cars, one parked in the employee parking zone and one at the gas pumps. She hurried into the building and looked around. A tall boy manned the register and an old woman eyed some chips in the candy/snacks aisle. Mary looked at her car through the window. It was really hailing.
"Hello there," the boy said.
Mary nodded and smiled.
Death Cab for Cutie's Your Bruise was playing over the radio. She listened, singing along in her head and looked at the magazines. Here eyes moved to the porn, but as she felt her cheeks burn, she moved to the gossip mags. The woman appeared beside her.
"Excuse me," she started in a voice Mary expected: meek and soft. "Do you have any change? I want to buy these chips but with the gas I come in just under."
Mary looked at her, not knowing what to do.
"I think I might."
She opened her wallet and dumped dimes and loonies into her hand. "How much do you need?"
"All of it," she said, holding up a gun.
"What the hell?"
The woman grabbed Mary's wallet and ran out of the store. Mary could only stand and stare.

So I didn't get around to using the word, but it did inspire me. Oh well. That was five minutes. Practice practice practice will pay off, right? Hopefully.

A Thought

Maybe this blog can be about me talking about my writing. My main one is where I'll post the story and my commentary of life and the Sims one will be about my royal kingdom challenge (if it ever gets started). Yeah, that works.

Okay, so today I finished chapter 6. I want to start the next chapter, but it's late and I have grad pics tomorrow.
I got to the part before the part where Connor rapes Jen. Gosh, that was a hard scene to write. But yeah. I encountered a problem.
Why doesn't Bryn just read the diary through fully? 1.She didn't have it at first (solved) 2.She keeps getting distracted
I think while I'm taking a break after I finish this draft, I'll come up with some more story, or some solutions to the parts I didn't think through fully.
GOAL: Finish JF Second draft by my birthday (42 days, not including my birthday or today).
Pages left: 188
Chapters left: 11
That's roughly 5 pages a day, but I go by chapters. Each chapter is about 20 or so pages.
GOAL: Write for an hour each day (that should eat up some of the novel quickly). I could do quick-writes to stay in practice. I'll use dictionary.com's word of the day for inspiration. Yes, that sounds good.

I haven't updated

As anyone who sees this knows, I haven't updated in a long, long time. The reason: I messed up big when I posted the chapter of JF here and didn't notice until it was too late. No I didn't just copy and paste it back to the other blog because there are some chunks of it that are italicized and that doesn't transfer over when copying/pasting. I didn't want to deal with having to go through the italicized version and checking if I got every line. So, whatever.
I wanted this blog to be the diary for one or all of my characters in JF so that I could get to know them a little better.
